Nostalgia means sentimental longing for the past. It is built on two Greek roots, nostos, a return, and algos, pain. Nostos means a ship, the very root from which words like aeronautics have been built. People often refer to the term “Sweet Nostalgia”. I often wonder how can pain be sweet unless a person is a masochist?
