Not again!
When the Vietnam War went badly for the US, they failed to pull out at first. Instead of admitting defeat, they widened the war and pointlessly began to bomb Cambodia as well, before finally pulling out of Vietnam anyway. That bombing campaign cost 150 THOUSAND Cambodian lives for no reason whatsoever other than to try to save some US pride.Iraq is now clearly the new Vietnam. Let's all hope and pray that Iran doesn't end up as the new Cambodia. So let me get this clear in my head - WHEN AMERICAN FORCES KILL INNOCENT PEOPLE WE HAVE TO ACCEPT IT AS PAER OF ITS WAR ON TERROR- AND MISTAKES HAPPEN! WHEN THEY KILL BRITISH/ COALITION SOLDIERS ITS UNFORTUNATE FRIENDLY FIRE! WHAT UTTER HIPOCRACY! Please someone let us know the last time an IRANIAN KILLED PEOPLE IN THIS WAY?

Nostalgia means sentimental longing for the past. It is built on two Greek roots, nostos, a return, and algos, pain. Nostos means a ship, the very root from which words like aeronautics have been built. People often refer to the term “Sweet Nostalgia”. I often wonder how can pain be sweet unless a person is a masochist? A masochist by the way is a person who derives pleasure from one’s own pain.Do you think I am trying to show off my “well above average” vocabulary?! well , I just wanted to explain the specific meaning of my blog's name.Don't you think Nostalgia could be bitter?

Dr. Yarshater, the eminent Iranian scholar is the director of Columbia's Center for Iranian Studies, which he founded in 1967. Professor Yarshateris the Hagop Kevorkian Professor Emeritus of Iranian Studies and a specialsenior lecturer at Columbia University.Dr. Yarshater first conceived the idea of "Encyclopedia Iranica (EIR)" in1973 when he noticed a lack of coherent sources on topics related to the Iranian culture and history. With the University's initial backing and support from the Iranian government (which was cut off after therevolution), Dr. Yarshater started the EIR project.Encyclopedia Iranica is the most extensive reference work and research tool recording the facts about Iranian history and civilization. It is theonly precisely documented reference which, in the broadest terms, contains history, culture and science of all lands that speak or once spoke any Iranian language.
